          Lewinthal, Sklamberg and Associates was formed in 1986 by Sandra Sklamberg and Robert Lewinthal joined the firm a few months later. Until 1995 our firm was primarily involved in litigation, especially business litigation, real estate, divorce, dissolution, family law and child custody. Since 1995 our practice has been primarily in dissolution of marriage, divorce and family law. Our goal is to provide our clients with the highest quality of legal representation and to attempt to resolve all issues in an amicable and stress free environment. When litigation is necessary, we provide extraordinary trial services to our clients. The vast majority of our cases are filed in Cook and Lake Counties. We have successfully represented many clients in McHenry, Dupage and Will Counties as well.

      We specialize in finding hidden assets, especially businesses, real estate and financial accounts. We have tried many cases involving the valuation and distribution of a spouse's business. We have tried many issues involving child custody and the related issues of domestic abuse, drug and alcoholism addiction. We have obtained child support and collected on the judgments in hundreds of cases. More importantly we have been able to obtain child support when the income of a spouse is uncertain, unknown or non existent.

       It is our hope that through negotiation, mediation or the collaborative law process, most cases can be resolved without the need of expensive and stressful litigation. The vast majority of our cases settle, but we vigorously represent contested cased and have been successful at both the trial and appellate level.
